Just found out what my expected area of expertise is going to be. Working on a few projects. One of the guys I looked forward to working with is leaving.
On my third day on the job, I re-injured my left knee. I'm what'd be considered vaguely double jointed - I can disjoint enough to get into positions that'd be uncomfortable for most people, but not enough to get out of cuffs or a straight jacket. One area of particular note is my knees.
When I was in 6th grade, I was taking the dog food out to the two dogs in the back yard, slipped on some snow and dislocated my knee. We went to the doctor, he said eventually it'd come out permantly, and I'd have to get surgery. In the mean time, avoid skiing. Its popped out a handful of times, but for the last couple years its been good. This time, it didn't wanna go back in. Worse, I did it on the job, right when one of the VIP's was coming in to meet me.
Awesome.
Talked to the doctor last Friday. Got my appointment setup for PT next Friday (the sixth) and have to get MRI's done. Its been on and off, but Memorial day, I couldn't walk on it at all until 4:00pm (which made going to the bathroom interesting).
I'm tired. Haven't had time to play on the computer really since the new job is 9 hours per day (doesn't matter if I take an hour for lunch or eat at my desk, I'm charged an hour for it) and driving about 2 hours per day minimum. I've been having to drive the V8 because its an automatic -- the manual was causing stress to my left knee.
Got the new Think Geek catalog in the mail today. Was flipping through it thinking how much of the stuff would be perfect gifts for somewoman.
